Terms of service

The plain-language rules for using Vera. Last updated 1 August 2026.

Placeholder notice: details marked [COMPANY] below are placeholders and will be replaced with the registered company name, address, registration number, and contact email before launch.

1. Who you're dealing with

The service is operated by [COMPANY], [COMPANY ADDRESS], registration [COMPANY REG NO]. Contact: [COMPANY EMAIL]. By starting a conversation with Vera and completing onboarding, you accept these terms.

2. What Vera is

Vera is a strength-training coaching service delivered through WhatsApp. She builds you a training program from established methods, delivers sessions, logs your training from voice and text messages, and adjusts your weights over time. Vera is an AI coach and identifies herself as one.

3. What Vera is not

  • Not medical advice. Vera is not a doctor, physiotherapist, or dietitian. She will not diagnose pain, prescribe rehabilitation, or give nutrition prescriptions. If something hurts, she will suggest modifying or skipping a movement and seeing a professional — follow that advice.
  • Not risk-free. Strength training carries inherent risk. Consult a physician before starting if you have any medical condition, and stop and seek help if you experience pain, dizziness, or injury. You train at your own responsibility.
  • Not a general assistant.Vera’s scope is training, recovery, and gym logistics. She will decline other topics.

4. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old and have a WhatsApp account. Vera asks your year of birth at onboarding and does not create accounts for minors.

5. Price, trial, and cancellation

  • The subscription costs €9.99 per month (79 kr. in Denmark), an introductory price. If it changes, existing subscribers keep their price.
  • The first 14 days are free. No payment details are required to start the trial; Vera asks for payment before the trial ends, and if you do nothing, the service simply stops — no surprise charge.
  • Cancel any time by writing “cancel” in the chat. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. No refunds for partial periods, except where consumer law requires otherwise.
  • Payment is processed by Stripe (and MobilePay in Denmark). Your statutory withdrawal rights under EU consumer law are unaffected.

6. Fair use

“Unlimited” voice logging means unlimited normal training use. Automated, abusive, or plainly non-training traffic may be rate limited or, after warning, terminated. Attempting to use Vera as a general-purpose chatbot is pointless anyway — she will redirect you.

7. WhatsApp

The service is delivered over WhatsApp, which is operated by Meta under its own terms. We are not responsible for WhatsApp outages or changes to the platform, though we will do our best to work around them.

8. Your data

How we handle personal data — including health data and voice notes — is described in the privacy policy, which forms part of these terms. Your training history is yours: you can export it as JSON or CSV, or delete it entirely, by asking in the chat.

9. Liability

To the extent permitted by law, our liability is limited to the amount you paid for the service in the twelve months before the claim arose. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited, including for gross negligence or intent, or your statutory consumer rights.

10. Termination

You can leave at any time (section 5). We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate section 6 or use the service unlawfully, with notice where reasonable. On termination your data is deleted per the retention schedule in the privacy policy.

11. Changes and governing law

We may update these terms; material changes are announced in the chat at least 30 days in advance, and continued use after that constitutes acceptance. These terms are governed by the laws of [COMPANY JURISDICTION], without prejudice to mandatory consumer protections of your country of residence. Disputes go to the courts of [COMPANY JURISDICTION], or your local courts where consumer law so provides.
